Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Rub chicken breasts with 1 Tbsp. olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Bake for about 10 minutes. Flip, and cook for another 15 or until the juices run clear.
Step 2In the meantime, combine chopped tomatoes, garlic, onion, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sea salt and basil in a bowl. Place bowl in refrigerator until chicken is ready. Spoon over chicken and enjoy!

From new working mom and doctor to Fitness Competitor
One short while ago, I was a hard working government employee,... mom of 1, soon-to-be Doctor of Business Administration in December of 2017, and mom-to-be of second child in January of 2018, was the start of my journey with Ford Wellness. It was at this point when I decided to take the stage as a Figure Fitness Competitor.
After battling up and down weight gain, tackling many yo-yo diets with no successful longevity, I became an avid gym goer, which transitioned to many other fitness goals, one being to start competing – which I did achieve in 2012. After taking a break to have children, I knew that one day I would compete again. In fact, I made this thought a reality by speaking it into existence – which included committing my life to health, wellness, and fitness – and would take this commitment one step further by competing again after my son was born. Once I set my intentions in stone, I then sought out the expertise of Ms. Jonene (Coach Jo) Ford of Ford Wellness who begin slowly but surely coaching me through one of her successful virtual group accountability programs, which contributed significantly to me dropping over 40 lbs of baby weight gain. Then in December of 2018 [almost one year later], I begin competition prep. Competition prep included a customized nutrition program that Coach Jo spent countless hours preparing just for me, a detailed training plan meant to transition MY body [not a one size fits all program] from mom body to a Figure competitor body, and not to mention emotional control. Coach Jo not only planned my meals [to include shopping list, nutritional counts/quantities), she also coached me through self-sabotage, explained why my body was craving certain foods, and offered other alternatives to combat those concerns.
I believe that without any doubt that Coach Jo helped me to bring the best body that I could bring to the stage. In comparison to my first show in 2012, working with her helped me not only bring a more chiseled/lean body, she taught me how to be more aware of my food decisions, to overcome self-sabotage, and to be consistent. In addition, her expert nutritional background and training capabilities aided me in the clean sweep at my first of 1st place National Physique Committee trophies and a best presentation sword. Yes, hard work does pay off, but having an amazing coach [such as Coach Jo) that complements your hard work and/or pushes you to pound harder than ever before to reach your goals. Coach Jo will kindly and almost always remind you of your “why” because at the end of the day she is working diligently to help you meet your goals. That is want she did for me – helped me lose my baby weight in a matter of 3 months and helped me win my first figure fitness competition within 4 months of rigorous training.

Being an African-American mother of two over 40 who has struggled with her weight all of her life, I've been on this... constant journey to find a quick fix. Unhappy with my weight but too lazy to workout and to eat healthy on a consistent basis, I've tried them all (WW, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, etc) to no avail.
In 2017, I found Jonene Ford and Ford Wellness. Jonene and her staff's knowledge of nutrition and fitness was a game changer for me. In October of last year, I decided to join the Ford Wellness 4 Week Cut Program for Women. What I most enjoyed was that the program changed our meal plan on a weekly basis. Gone are the days of complete boredom of eating the same thing over and over and over again. This variety made it so much easier to stay true to the plan and the meals were delicious and fun. And what program would be complete without an exercise plan. While I cringed at the thought of working out, this program was so easy to follow and exercises could be done at home if you didn't have access to a gym. There were times I found myself with questions throughout the program to ensure I was following the program correctly and no matter what time or day, the Ford Wellness staff responded quickly and with positivity.
All of these key ingredients to this program allowed me to be successful.
After finding success after the program with weight loss and fat loss, I did the program again 2 more times. That's another great thing about the 4 Week Cut program, you can repeat it as many times as you want to achieve your ultimate fitness goals. Following the 3rd repeat of the program I was bikini ready (with a few abs peaking through). :)
