Does Ford Wellness Accept Insurance as Payment for Service?
Ford Wellness currently accepts the following insurance coverages for payment for Medical Nutrition Therapy:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
What state do I have to live in to be able to receive Medical Nutrition Therapy services?
Medical Nutrition Therapy can only be provided by nutritionists and dietitians who are licensed in your home state. At this time, Ford Wellness has clinicians who are licensed in the following states:
- Maryland

Who Is Qualified to Provide Nutrition Services?
While laws differ from state to state, nutrition counseling, medical nutrition therapy, and personalized nutrition care can generally only be provided by a licensed nutritionist or a registered dietician. Nurses, physicians, fitness trainers, and health coaches are not qualified to provide personalized nutrition care unless they have additional clinical nutrition licensure and/or certifications. Nutrition education or nutrition coaching has a broader, more general scope and may be provided by people with extensive health and nutrition science backgrounds.
